Judge enters ‘not guilty’ plea for O’Bryant

ROGERS CITY — Former Rogers City Area Schools Superintendent Dave O’Bryant didn’t enter a plea during court Monday.

Judge Scott Pavlich entered a not guilty plea for him, since his case was bound over to circuit court last month.

O’Bryant received two felony charges for his dealings with a nonprofit youth football program. He was charged with embezzlement and larceny by conversion.

The other charge was for larceny by conversion for more than $1,000 but less than $20,000.

O’Bryant left Rogers City to become superintendent at Farwell Area Schools in November. According to the Clare County Review the Farwell board of education placed O’Bryant on unpaid administrative leave.

The next court date for O’Bryant will be July 2.
