ATLANTA – Eighteen students graduated from Atlanta High School on Friday in front of friends and family.

The 18 students received their diplomas and Principal Tawny Hisscock spoke of each student’s high school accomplishments and what they are all planning to do next.

Superintendent Carl Seiter told the students that graduation culminates years of hard work and dedication.

“You may not realize it yet, but the lengthy and sometimes difficult journey through your school years has helped developed you into the promising young adults that you are,” Seiter said. “Some of you are excited, some of you are relieved, and some are filled with anxiety and uncertainty. All of these feelings are normal when you think in terms of what today really means.”

A senior video played reliving all the memories the students had throughout their time in school.

Salutatorian Nicole Gerrie and Valedictorian Breanna Webster addressed the audience representing their graduation class. Gerrie told those in attendance that life is just like writing a speech.

“You don’t have a guide to follow or a certain theme,” she said. “You’re not sure of where you’re going, but know that you must accomplish something. I hope that all my classmates do what their want in life and enjoy it. I believe that every one of you can succeed in what you choose to do.”

Webster said Atlanta’s Class of 2018 does not fall short of intelligence and talent.

“Everyone in this class has a unique talent or ability and it’s really not hard to recognize,” Webster said. “I’m incredibly grateful to be graduating with this group of young adults.”

At the end of graduation, the graduates tossed their caps and left the gym ready to start the next chapter of their lives.
