ALPENA — Beginning today, contractors will start work on City of Alpena infrastructure in the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Jefferson Street, according to a City of Alpena press release.

3rd Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Garden Street to Brooke Street; Jefferson Street will be closed to through traffic from 4th Avenue to Emmet Street. Barricades will be present to guide traffic. This project is expected to last one day unless weather or construction delays occur.

Residents are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
