A Rustblet Poetry Reading, presented in partnership with the Poetics Lab, will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Art in the Loft is located on the third floor of the Center Building at 109 N. 2nd Ave. in Alpena.

Diana Lueptow is author of “Little Nest” (Kent State University Press), poems in anthologies and journals such as “FIELD,” “Arion,” “The Stinging Fly,” “Brilliant Corners,” and two plays. She has received three individual excellence awards from the Ohio Arts Council and holds an MFA from the Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. A lifelong Great Lakes midwesterner, she lives in northeast Ohio, where she’s rowed Cuyahoga and sailed Lake Erie.

NuEra Sunshine is a singer and poet host, born and raised in Detroit. Her poetry is a love letterto the vulnerabilities of self-love, mental health, motherhood, sexual liberty, and being a hopeless romantic in a crappy but beautiful world. Sunshine writes for personal therapy and to inspire those who may feel alone through all that is life to build a resilient community through artistic connection.

Pia Borsheim lives in Presque Isle. She holds an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. (1985) from Michigan State University with areas of qualification in English, Sociology, and Philosophy. She was a tenured full professor, teaching literature and creative writing at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. until her retirement in December of 2020. Her poetry collections are: “Moon on the Meadow: Collected Poems” 1977-2007; “Two Winters” 2011; “Mother Mail” 2017; “Love Poems” 2018; and “Above the Birch Line” 2021. “Snow and Sand,” her most recent book of poems, is forthcoming in 2025, followed by “Dinner in Cassis” in 2026.
