Walat – Moffatt exchange wedding vows

Marissa Walat and Adam Moffatt exchanged their wedding vows July 3, 2018 at the Sonshine Barn Wedding and Event Center in Gaylord. Rev. JonMark Baker officiated the outdoor ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Rick Walat of Owosso and Gretchen (Williams) Pardike of Alpena. The groom is the son of Kris and Nancy Moffatt of Tawas City.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was her friend, Olivia Doyle of Grand Blanc. Bridesmaids were Madison Walat and Morgan Walat of Alpena, sisters of the bride; Sativa Savage of Alpena, friend of the bride; Chelsey Moffatt Huang of Shenyang, China, sister of the groom; and Katelynn Joy of Alpena sister-in-law of the groom.

Attending the groom as best man was his friend, Connor Reppuhn of Grand Rapids. Groomsmen were Reid Wilson of Apple Valley, Minn., friend of the groom; Caleb Moffatt of Indianapolis, Ind. and Daniel Moffatt of Alpena, brothers of the groom; Bo Huang of Shenyang, China, brother-in-law of the groom; and Jacob Willliams of Alpena, cousin of the bride.

Serving as flower girls were Harper Cousineau, Tallulah Huang and Lark Moffatt, while serving as ring bearer was Alexander Cousineau.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the wedding venue, where the rehearsal dinner also took place.

Marissa is a 2018 graduate of Alpena High School. Adam is a 2016 graduate of Tawas Area High School and is a junior at Lake Superior State University where he is studying kinesiology with a focus on rehabilitation science.

The couple took a Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon and are residing in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
