Abby F. Grulke and Ryan E. Brown exchanged their wedding vows June 22, 2013 at Hope Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake.

Abby is the daughter of Michael and Julie Grulke of Cheboygan. She is the granddaughter of Florence Timmreck of Ossineke, and Ken and Joan Grulke of Alpena. Ryan is the son of Tommy and Debbie Bridges of Shelby, N.C., and the grandson of Minnie Bridges of Lawndale and the late Clarence and Lois Hoyle of Shelby.

Standing up with the bride were her co-matrons of honor, Karen Rossman and Nikki Brown, both friends from Grand Valley State University. Her other bridesmaids were sister-in-law Christine Grulke, cousin Erin Lisefski, and friends Michelle Krypel and Jessica Beer. Rachel Wince, Taylor McSwain and Kayla McSwain, nieces of the groom, served as flower girls.

Jacob Parker and Jeremy Marler served as the groom’s co-best men. Ryan’s brother, Chad McSwain, the bride’s brother, Zach Grulke, and friend Anthony Marciano also stood up with the groom. Carson Wince and Cade Wince, nephews of the groom, rounded out the wedding party as ring bearers.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Holiday Inn in Alpena. The newlyweds moved to Norton Shores in August and are both teaching at Fruitport Community Schools.
