ALPENA — Registration for the 2026 Northern Michigan Law Enforcement Career Academy is now open.

The Michigan State Police and Alpena Community College are hosting a free five‒day academy from July 19-24 that gives area youth a hands-on introduction to law enforcement. The academy will mirror a typical 16-26 week police academy and will conclude with a simulation of a real police shift.
