The Alpena Volunteer Center at Alpena Community College kicks off its annual Christmas Wish List this week. A holiday tradition for 40 years, the Christmas Wish List includes hundreds of children’s specific gift requests that are matched with the generous donors who agree to fill them. Most gifts are for basic needs such as clothing, household items and food.

Volunteer Center phone lines are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday at 989-358-7271, to match donors with the wishes of a child.

Gifts must be received the week of Dec. 3 through 6. Monetary donations are also needed to provide for the purchase of unfulfilled gifts or food.
