David and Dell Lynn Aikens of 14655 Alfalfa Rd., Lachine are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. David and the former Dell Lynn McDonnell were married Sept. 6, 1958 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Alpena.

The couple have seven children: Mary, Denise, Karen, Brian, Julie, Gordon and the late Paul David. They have 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

In honor of their anniversary, a reception was held Sept. 9 at Pompeyos Mexican Grill with 42 guests in attendance.

David is a retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer. Dell is a homemaker and retired pharmacy tech at K-mart.
