Huron Pines upcoming events
Huron Pines has events booked that nature enthusiasts and environmental stewards can take advantage of through the summer and fall months. Workshops and networking events give opportunities for attendees to explore ways that they can support conservation efforts in Michigan.
INVASIVE SPECIES WORDAYS
There will be two events to help remove invasive species and restore native habitats on Tuesday in Alpena and June 6 in Oscoda.
Join Huron Pines at Besser Museum on Tuesday to remove invasive species from the nature trail and to prepare the site for planting native ones. Invasive Species Workday at Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan starts at 10 a.m.

Additionally, Huron Pines is looking for help pulling invasive spotted knapweed at the newly christened AuSable River Scenic Preserve in Oscoda. Volunteers will work together to remove this plant to restore native habitats for wildlife and improve recreation for people. Invasive Species Workday at AuSable River Scenic Preserve will take place on June 6 at 10 a.m.

LAKE HURON FOREVER ONE WATER GATHERING
Mark your calendars for the Lake Huron Forever One Water Gathering, happening on Oct. 1-3 in Alpena.
This international event brings professionals and partners from Canada and Michigan together to explore the lakeshore, according to Huron Pines. Through programming, networking, and outdoor field trips, One Water Gathering focuses on how to advance water quality protection and healthy, sustainable communities on both sides of Lake Huron.
