Northland donates to Friends Together

ALPENA – Northland Area Federal Credit Union (NAFCU) presented a donation of $1,000 to Friends Together on May 6, according to a Northland Area Federal Credit Union press release on Tuesday. Northland’s donation was made possible by the members of NAFCU and the surrounding community that came together to donate. Donations were collected throughout the NAFCU branches throughout Northern Michigan during the month of April.

Northland’s Deanna Reeves, Vice President of member services, said in the release that she is “grateful to be able to provide help to Friends Together so they in turn can support those whose lives have been affected by cancer.”

Friends Together is a nonprofit organization that supports cancer patients, survivors, care givers and loved ones in Northeast Michigan, according to the release. They provide free services such as transportation, lodging, gas cards, wigs, prosthetics, and comfort items. Friends Together also offers support groups, educational workshops, and social activities.

NAFCU has 17 branches and serves over 45,000 members in 27 Northern Michigan counties, with over $700 million in assets. NAFCU is federally insured by the NCUA and is an Equal Housing Lender.
