Mental Health First Aid programs upcoming

Partners in Prevention is hosting several programs in August.

Youth Mental Health First Aid, fully in-person, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority, 400 Johnson St., Alpena. This training is designed for caring adults looking to learn more about mental health and how to support adolescents. NASW-Michigan CECs are available for social workers.

Mental Health First Aid will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, at Alcona Senior Center, 807 N. Barlow Rd., Lincoln. This training is for caring adults seeking to learn more about mental health and how to support others. Stipends are available for area school staff and board members.

A Time to Heal Suicide Loss Support Group will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 11, at First Presbyterian Church, 1600 W. Chisholm St., Alpena.
