ALPENA — Sunday, Aug. 25, concluded Alpena Golf Club’s Par 3 Challenge and Million Dollar Shoot-Out.
The thirteen-week-long “challenge” saw nine golfers positioned themselves for a chance to swing for the Million Dollar Prize.
A 10th golfer was picked by a random draw from all season-long participants for the same change at the Million Dollar Prize.
A banquet followed the “Shoot-Out” where sponsored prizes were awarded to the 10 shooters, followed by door prizes to all banquet attendees.
Each year, the Par 3 program chooses a local charity as its beneficiary. This year’s beneficiary was Hospice of Michigan who received $1,365.
Over the past 15 years, Alpena Golf Club has donated over $16,000 to local charities.
The Par 3 program has always been open to the public.
