The 40th Annual Elk Festival starts at 5 p.m. today in Atlanta and continues through Sunday.
ATLANTA — The 40th Annual Elk Festival kicks off at 5 p.m. tonight and continues Saturday and Sunday in Atlanta.
A “Back to the ’80s” party with DJ 4X will start at 8 p.m. tonight.
Festivities include a world-class chainsaw carving competition and auctions, a parade, games, live entertainment, a beer tent, pageant, petting zoo, Atlanta Chamber of Commerce auction, cornhole tournament, $500 per day button raffle, vendors, Elk Fest Jail, live radio shows, a bed race, deck package and bike raffles, carvings for sale, Kids Event Zone from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, a kids fishing contest, pet parade, and much more.
The Beach Billies play at 4 p.m. on Saturday, followed by Yankee Station at 8 p.m. A karaoke contest with Zuesha will be held at noon on Sunday.
Chainsaw carvers will be in “Carvers’ Alley” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. A quick carve competition will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday. Quick carve auctions will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Chamber office/tent.
