TBA Community Chorus Spring Concert Monday

ALPENA — Thunder Bay Arts Community Chorus will present its Spring Concert at 7 p.m. on Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 124 E. Washington Ave., Alpena.

This is a free concert, but donations will be accepted. This event is made possible in part with financial support from Michigan Arts and Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Storytime in the Garden Saturday on City Hall lawn

ALPENA ­– Storytime in the Garden is from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. Join the Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library for an outdoor story time on the front lawn at City Hall. Afterwards, children will be able to decorate a pot and plant native seeds to take home and grow.

Mother’s Day gift event Saturday at Art in the Loft

ALPENA ­– Art in the Loft presents Mother’s Day Goodie Gift Boxes, a class for $30 per person, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Surprise your mother, grandmother, auntie, or that special woman in your life with a customized gift box full of delicious sweet treats for Mother’s Day.

From the Loft’s creative classroom to the kitchen, students will be guided on a variety of ways to personalize hinged wooden keepsake boxes, as well as creating sweet chocolate covered treats to fill them with. Lane Blair Olsen will lead this fun class for all ages, 5 and up. Scholarships are available. Apply at artintheloft.org.

Bridge Club results announced

ALPENA ­– Alpena Duplicate Bridge Club results have been announced for this week, with Gordon Bennett and Marge French in first place, followed by Beverley Rousseau and Marcy Sherman in second, and Deanna Brege and Gayle Nowak in third.

The group meets at 12:30 p.m. on Mondays. Call 989-595-5119 or 989-354-2306.

Grand Lake Association Pancake Breakfast May 25

PRESQUE ISLE ­– The annual Grand Lake Association all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25 at the Presque Isle Lodge.

The menu includes blueberry and regular pancakes, sausage, orange juice, coffee and milk. Come and enjoy a fabulous breakfast and the beginning of another great season.

The cost is $8 per adult, and $3 per child.

The public is welcome.
