ALPENA — Steve Mousseau of Hubbard Lake won a new 2021 Yamaha EPS Side-by-Side from a MyMichigan Health Foundation raffle held last month. Raffle proceeds were directed to the new patient tower currently under construction at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. Mousseau’s raffle ticket was a birthday gift from his wife and was purchased only a couple hours prior to the drawing.

The future 99,000- square-foot patient tower at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena, scheduled to open in April 2022, is the largest expansion of its kind in the community.

The $63.5 million expansion and renovation project features a three-story patient tower. The tower will house 60 new private patient rooms, including eight intensive care unit beds, eight labor and delivery rooms, and 44 medical/surgical/telemetry beds.

The new tower will also include 19 prep and recovery rooms, flex rooms, as well as five new operating rooms. Once complete, many areas in the existing Medical Center will be renovated.
