MOCA Auxiliary held Jan. meeting

Due to closure of the VFW Hall, the MOCA Auxiliary was unable to have a meeting in November and December. On Jan. 19, the group had its regular meeting with six members in attendance. It was a brief meeting as there was no unfinished business to complete.

Fines were paid, minutes of the October meeting were read, and the treasurer’s report given. Ironically, a Happy Thanksgiving card from the ACC Foundation Board of Trustees was read, and a thank-you card for the group’s donation to the VFW National Home Cooties Christmas Party.

MOCA Junior Vice President Ayla Gougeon submitted a letter of resignation.

Sadly, the group’s chaplain informed them that a past Auxiliary member, Marie Rimes, passed away. She was their treasurer for quite a few years.

The quarterly audit was held before the meeting. Three-Year Trustee Margaret Piontkowski read the audit report. It was moved and seconded to accept the report as read.

The group will have to decide whether or not to continue to donate to Medilodge as they have been unable to go there on weekly visits to play bingo due to COVID-19. The group will decide on that at next month’s meeting.

There was nothing for the Good of the Order and nothing further to come before the meeting. President Roxann Buchler declared the meeting closed. Next month’s meeting will be Feb 16.

The 50/50 winners were Barb LaMay and Michael Stone. The name for the “Pot” was Gail Morrison.
