Plaza Pool quilt raffle underway

A Plaza Pool quilt raffle is happening, with the drawing to be held Dec. 2. This is a fundraising project to support the Alpena County Plaza Pool.

Tickets are available at the Plaza Pool for $5 each or three for $10.

Three prizes will be awarded: 1st – Handmade quilt; 2nd – Fleece blanket; and 3rd – Afghan blanket

Besser Museum Season of Light events postponed

In support of the Michigan Department Health and Human Services and Governor Whitmer’s efforts and actions to protect Michigan citizens and slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan will be closed to the general public from Wednesday through Dec. 8. The museum will reopen Wednesday, Dec. 9.

The Season of Light Exhibit opening festivities will be rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13. Tickets will be available for purchase by calling 989-356-2202.

Art in the Loft classes postponed

All in-person classes at Art in the Loft have been postponed “due to social distancing restrictions and for the safety of our community,” an email explained.
