A collection of laptops is now available for individual checkout at the Alpena County Public Library’s temporary location in Bear Pointe Plaza.

The laptops can be requested through the library’s catalog or by calling the Circulation Desk at 989-356-6188, ext. 10.

The borrowing period for the computers is seven days. Once returned, the laptops will be quarantined, sanitized, undergo a data reset, and then made available for the next patron.

IT Specialist Nancy Mousseau was very excited about the opportunity to make the laptops available, since the library itself is closed to the public.

“We received new laptops from a Public Library Association grant which are being used by staff working remotely and in the temporary location,” she said in a statement, “and I was thrilled we were able to repurpose the older laptops for circulation.”
