Flannel Fun Night downtown Oct. 22

ALPENA — ​The Alpena Downtown Development Authority has partnered with downtown merchants to host Flannel Fun Night from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Wear your favorite flannel and bring your friends downtown for a cozy fall night of shopping with the wonderful merchants of downtown. Each business will be running different sales, promotions, giveaways, and more. At each business, customers will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a collective prize basket featuring prizes from all 20 ​participating businesses with a total value of almost $500. The more businesses a customer visits, the more chances they’ll have to win the prize basket. The official contents of the prize basket will be announced on Downtown Alpena’s Facebook page and in the Flannel Fun Night Facebook Event.

The following businesses are participating in the event: Great Lakes Divers, Parallel 45 Books & Gifts, Alpena VintageCompany, Art in the Loft, Chippewa ValleyMercantile & Leatherworks, Soaps & Such, Olivet Book & Gift, Classic Designs byDoreen Thomas, Traveling Ladders, Regalo Luxury Gifts, Thunder Bay Winery, HeartMind Center, United Way of Northeast Michigan, The Local BasketCase, Rusty Petunias Marketplace, Myers’ Fashions Etc., My Glass Wings, Emery Enterprises, The Rabbit Hole, and Thunder Bay Arts.

“Fall is one of my favorite times of year in Downtown Alpena, and this event is sure to be a fun and cozy night of shopping downtown,” said Kingsli Kraft, marketing and outreach coordinator for the Alpena DDA. “Flannel Fun Night is really for everyone too, which is the best part. If you want to get together a group of your favorite ladies together and make a night of it, great! If you want to come down with your family and check it out, that’s wonderful, too! We hope people come downtown, follow social distancing and visit some of our amazing downtown businesses for a chance to win this amazing prize basket!”

Customers planning to attend Flannel Fun Night are required to abide by social distancing and wear a mask covering their mouth and nose, keep at least six feet from other shoppers, sanitize/wash their hands often, use contactless payment options when available, and be kind and patient with businesses and other shoppers.
