Long Lake Association to meet July 1; bring chairs

The Long Lake Improvement Association will host a meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at the Parker House. The public is welcome.

The meeting will be held outdoors behind the Parker House, adjacent to the patio.

The association is requesting that guests bring a lawn chair to ensure social distancing.

Free plane rides Saturday

The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) 1021 will host a free fly-in event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Alpena County Regional Airport, 1617 Airport Road.

This is a free admission event. Brats will be served for $8 each.

Classic cars will be on display as well as a variety of aircraft, and a flight simulator for public use. Free airplane rides will be offered on a first come, first served basis, starting at 10 a.m., weather permitting.

Ice cream social Friday at

Grace Episcopal Church

Grace Episcopal Church at 13488 Long Rapids Rd. will host a dinner and ice cream social from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, open to the public.

Sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, homemade pies and ice cream will be served. Cost is by donation.
