Thunder-Con will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Art in the Loft, on the third floor of the Center Building in downtown Alpena.

Hubbard Lake Community Association garage sale Friday, Saturday

The Hubbard Lake Community Association is accepting donations for its garage sale fundraiser, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hubbard Lake Community Center, 1561 Hubert Road.

Donations can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Thursday at the center. Items that will not be accepted include clothing and electronics. Items should be clean and in good condition. For more information, call Margaret at 989-727-1157.

Bridge results announced

Alpena Duplicate Bridge Club winners from Monday’s competition have been announced.

Gordon Bennett and Marge French placed first, and three teams tied for second: Carolyn Belton and Judie Vivian, Jackie Kennedy and Loretta Reynolds, and Jan Kane and Ron Young.

AHS Class of 1959 reunion Aug. 23

The Alpena High School Class of 1959 reunion will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the 19th Hole restaurant in Alpena.
