There’s a song in the air!

‘Tis the season for singing! Once again the Besser Male Chorus is excited about its concerts, and is looking forward to spreading holiday cheer to all.

The first concert is at 7 p.m. tonight at the First United Methodist Church on the corner of First Avenue and Ripley Boulevard in Alpena. The chorus will raise everyone’s spirits with a mix of lively selections and meditative tunes. Additionally there will be instrumental additions from the three ladies that keep all the guys in line.

The second concert will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in Hillman at the New Beginnings Church on County Road 459 across from the Hillman Airport.

Following up on Sunday will be the final concert of the season at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpena. This concert will be a matinee starting at 1 p.m., which is a correction to the time that was listed in Tuesday’s Community Calendar.

All three performances include the same renditions including the debut of the Besser Male Chorus’s new electronic piano spiced up by the talent of Suelyn Bartz. Leading the chorus to always be their best is Director MaryAnn Hubbard. Accompanying with her on flute is Judith Case.

Supporting the chorus over the past year in its efforts to perform are the Besser Company, Sports Unlimited, JJ’s Restaurant, Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs, and Art in the Loft. The group is grateful to these businesses for their support.
