Yoga for charity tonight
Join in for a relaxing candle-lit slow flow style yoga class with Sam Samson-Miller RYT 200, and Charise McClendon, certified pilates teacher and musician. The charity event is at 7 p.m. tonight at Performance Locker, 1302 S. State Ave. in Alpena.
Samson-Miller will lead the yoga while McClendon serenades with her ukulele and song. Every dollar collected will be donated to the Huron Humane Society. Suggested donation is $10, but participants can give any amount. Yoga mats and props provided. Everyone is welcome, and no prior yoga experience is required.
Student awards canceled
The 30 Days of Peace Student Contest awards that had been scheduled for today at the mall have been canceled due to scheduling conflicts.
Harvest dinner Saturday
Remnant Church of Jesus Christ in Onaway will host a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and dessert of homemade pies on Saturday.
The cost is $10 for those 12 and older, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, free for ages 5 and younger, and a family rate of $25.

Fall-O-Ween Sunday at Dinosaur Gardens
Dinosaur Gardens in Ossineke is hosting a Fall-O-Ween Extravaganza and Dino-riffic Dance Party from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Children ages 13 and younger will be admitted for free if they are in costume. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The cost for ages 14 and older is $8 for a wristband, which includes all activities — walkthrough, Dino-riffic Dance Party, face-painting, cider and doughnuts. It costs $5 for 14 and up for just the walkthrough. A pumpkin contest will be held. Bring a decorated pumpkin to enter for a chance to win a free day pass in 2020. The winner will be announced at 6 p.m.
