Alpena Civic Theatre recently met at the home of Jay and Marilyn Kettler to celebrate a year of wonderful theater.

Following a picnic, President Julie Meyers presented the ACT President’s Award to Doreen Kriniak. In presenting the prestigious award, Meyers shared these words about why Kriniak was chosen.

“Doreen has been a fantastic stage manager,” Meyers said. “She always says ‘Yes’ to any and all requests for the Civic Theatre.

“She has the ability to work with any director. We directors can be tough to work with.

“We all love her and she can keep us calm,” Meyers continued. “When in need, ask Doreen and if you are lucky she will recruit her mom Shirley to do hair and makeup. Doreen is truly family to all of us.”
