Alpena County Library announces programs for kids, teens, and adults

Alpena County Library has announced upcoming programs for children, teens and adults.

The programs are listed here. To register, or for more information on any programs, call the library at 989-356-6188, ext. 14.

ı Wednesday, Aug. 28: Meal in a Mug, for ages 16 to 21, is 5 to 6 p.m. Create a three-course dinner using mugs and a microwave. Learn simple, budget-friendly recipes perfect for dorm life or a quick, easy meal after a long day at work.

ı Thursday, Aug. 29: Code Club is open to children and teens in grades 3 through 12, from 4 to 5 p.m. during the school year. Code Club will be on Tuesday instead of Thursday on Oct. 15 and 22.

ı September Story Hour registration for ages 2-3 and 4-5 is now open. Registration is required.

ı Tinker Tuesdays are from 3 to 5 p.m. in the children’s area on the following dates: Sept. 10 and 24, Oct. 8 and 29, Nov. 12 and 26, and Dec. 10.

ı Computer classes are from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following dates. Each class is $5 and requires registration.

¯ Sept. 16 — Introduction to Windows 10.

¯ Sept. 23 — Introduction to Internet Safety.

¯ Sept. 30 — Managing Your Files Using File Explorer.

¯ Oct. 7 — Using the Cloud.

¯ Oct. 14 — iOS Basics.

¯ Oct. 17 — Android Basics.

¯ Oct. 21 — Working Smarter Using Google Suite: Docs and Sheets.

¯ Oct. 24 — Working Smarter Using Google Suite: Slides and Forms.

¯ Oct. 28 — Working Smarter Using Google Suite: Google Calendar.

¯ Nov. 4 — Using Facebook.

¯ Nov. 7 — Introduction to Instagram.
