‘Mamma Mia!’ this weekend at TBT – almost sold out

ALPENA — “Here I go again!” That song is ready to get into your head once again, along with all the other upbeat tunes that accompany it.

“Mamma Mia! in Concert” is playing for one weekend only at Thunder Bay Theatre, and an extra show has just been added because tickets are selling fast. The musical is playing Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets are sold out for Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday afternoon, TBT Producing Artistic Director Jeffrey Mindock said on Wednesday afternoon. He said tickets for the Saturday 2 p.m. matinee are limited, and a Sunday night performance at 7:30 p.m. has just been added.

The funny and entertaining story follows a young woman’s search for her birth father, with the picturesque backdrop of a Greek island paradise.

“On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago,” a description from TBT’s website explains.

The melodic and popular tunes of ABBA take audiences on a harmonious journey through a haphazard love story full of energy and excitement.

Cast members include Tafadzwa Diener as Donna, Karis Mitchell as her daughter Sophie, Caprice Green as Tanya, Wesley Hodges as Sam, Jordan Hand as Bill, Lucas Moquin as Harry, Sarah Matlow as Rosie, Raymond Cronley as Sky, Annika Andersson as Ali, Desi Rodriguez as Lisa, Jared Garner as Pepper, Adrian Rochelle as Eddie, and Thomas Jore as Father Alexandrios. Ensemble members are Emily Ahrens, Charity Means, Joey Lanier, Ashley Cotton, Jenna Peterson, Olivia Losinski and Ashley Nowicki.
