M.O.C. Auxiliary hosts Grand President

The regular meeting of the Auxiliary to the M.O.C., Pup Tent 96, was held Tuesday, June 18, with seven members in attendance.

Roxann Buchler resigned as president, so Senior Vice President Patty Kucharek presided over the meeting as acting president. Fines were declared, the minutes of last month’s meeting were read and the treasurer’s report was was read. A donation request from Sunrise Mission was read and a motion voted on for two payments for July and August, and a bill for bingo at Medilodge was presented.

The Grand President Rosalyn Dandridge was a guest at the local meeting. She is from Mt. Clemens and was just newly elected to this position. The members welcomed her warmly.

Because the junior vice president moved up to senior vice president, the group nominated and elected Ayla Gougeon as junior vice president. Kucharek will be president for the remainder of the 2019-2020 term.

Betty Olsen informed the group that they won second and third place in the Ways N Means drawing at the annual convention, winning $49.

The visiting Grand President spoke to the group briefly. 50/50 winners were Kucharek and Gougeon. The pot went to Barb LaMay.

Next month’s meeting will be July 16. Any VFW Auxiliary members in good standing are invited to join the auxiliary.
