Free Lady Michigan cruises this Friday and Saturday

Free cruises on the glass-bottom boat Lady Michigan will be offered Friday and Saturday, thanks to an Alpena County Youth and Recreation Millage grant.

Tickets to these cruises will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets for Friday’s cruises will be available starting at 11 a.m. Friday at NOAA’s Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center. Friday cruises will be offered at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Tickets for Saturday’s cruises will be available starting at 8 a.m. Saturday at GLMHC. Saturday cruises will be at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

“It’s a way to really make sure the community itself get an opportunity to get out on the water and experience the shipwrecks,” said Katie Wolf, liaison to the Friends of Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary.

For more information, call the GLMHC at 989-884-6210 or email friends@thunderbayfriends.org.

The GLMHC is located at 500 W. Fletcher St. in Alpena.
