Langenburg promoted to COO at Spectrum Health

Beth Langenburg of Big Rapids, formerly of Ossineke, was promoted to chief operating officer at Spectrum Health Big Rapids and Reed City hospitals, on Feb. 3.
Langenburg recently earned a masters in business administration from Ferris State University.
Prior to the promotion, Langenburg had served as a registered nurse and the director of community health for Spectrum Health Big Rapids and Reed City hospitals.
As COO, she will supervise a wide range of hospital operations, including rehabilitation services, lab, radiology, nutrition services, supply chain, risk, accreditation, emergency preparedness, medical staff office, occupational health and volunteer services.
She has worked for Spectrum Health for more than 30 years, and has been active in implementing key programs including the sexual assault nurse examiner program and the award-winning farmer’s market outreach.
Langenburg is the daughter of Bob and Betty Keen of Ossineke, wife of George Langenburg, and the mother of Dr. Daniel Langenburg of Portland, Oregon, and Patrik Langenburg of Big Rapids.
She is a 1981 graduate of Alpena High School. She received her R.N. degree from Traverse City’s Northwestern Michigan College in 1984, and worked at Alpena General Hospital for one year. She married in 1985 and moved to Big Rapids, where she has been employed at Mecosta County Hospital, now Spectrum Health, for 33 years.
