ACT posts ‘How to Succeed’ cast

Alpena Civic Theatre and director Pat Jacques are pleased to announce a stellar, veteran cast with some exciting newcomers in the upcoming musical production of “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” set for May 9 to 19.

Renowned tenor David Usher heads an all-star ensemble in the role of Jasper Biggley, president of World Wide Wickets. Joe Rybarczyk plays the romantic lead J. Pierrepont Finch. Film and television actor Matt Southwell ably plays Bud Frump, foil to Finch and comedic villain of the piece. Bruce Michaud, as Mr. Twimble, heads the company mailroom, and Karl Heidemann, as Ovington, is the new head of advertising.

Olivia Martin is the female lead as Rosemary, Finch’s love interest. Marlo Broad plays Biggley’s secretary, Miss Jones. Angelina Burcar plays Rosemary’s sidekick. Marilyn Kettler is Miss Krumholtz, another secretary. Tracie Papin portrays Biggley’s comic girlfriend, Heady LaRue. Linda Suneson and Jolee Greer play the two scrubwomen. Madeline Young, Natalie Dozier, and Jessica Black play secretaries in the chorus. Young also doubles as one of the execs.

Ted Rockwell heads the male chorus in the role of Bratt, head of personnel. Scott Ickes, Kail Wade, Jere Standen, Tom Grubaugh, and Nick Stone fill out the executive roles as members of the male chorus. Bill Powell is the “book voice” and plays Wally Womper, chairman of the board. Rick Mesler plays the policeman.

Jay Kettler is assistant director. Jean Brown-Baker is music director. Carol Rundell is producer. Accompanist is David Delano, and Randy Bouchard is guitarist. Marilyn Kettler is also costumer and choreographer with Becky Saddler. Nearly 40 cast and crew will participate in the production of the Broadway hit that ran 1,417 performances.
