Badder family holds 33rd reunion

The 33rd annual Badder reunion was held July 28 at the Lion’s Club Park. The weather was beautiful as approximately 75 attended.

Carol Cadarette played the keyboard and sang some of the old tunes that everyone enjoyed. Servicemen in attendance were asked to stand while she played “God Bless America” and everyone sang.

Dale Liske won the 50/50 and donated half back to the reunion. Ken Ritthaler won the door prize. Arlie Prevost, age 86, was the oldest in attendance.

Candles were lit instead of releasing balloons this year. Sandra Christopherson suggested the candles because of the impact on the environment that balloons can have once they come down.

Three members of the family were lost this year: Roger Cousineau, married to Judy (Badder); Evaline (King) Johnson, daughter of Alice (Badder) and Bill King; and Lucille (King) Haase, daughter of Alice and Bill King.

In attendance at the reunion was Leonard Badder, who thanked everyone for their prayers while he has been receiving cancer treatments. Also just finishing treatments was Fred and Kay (Christopherson) Newman’s daughter.

Mike and Carol Lund attended this year. Mike is the grandson of Gladys (Badder) Habermehl.

Dale Liske and Colton Liske manned the grill, doing hot dogs and hamburgers. Debbie and family headed up the reunion this year.
