Dr. Sophia Phounsavath of Fort Smith, Ariz. and Daniel Larson of Lansing announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Paul and Maly Phounsavath of Fort Smith. Sophia is a 2003 graduate of Northside High School and a 2007 graduate of Bryn Mawr College. She received a Ph.D. in 2014 from Rice University.

The future groom is the son of Terry and Karen Larson of Rogers City. Daniel is a 2001 graduate of Rogers City High School and a 2005 graduate of Michigan Technological University. He is currently employed by Kieth-Kiley Construction Co. as a civil engineer.

The couple will exchange their wedding vows June 14, 2014 at Tullymore Golf Resort in Stanwood, Mich.
