DUNBAR, Maggie M., 94, of Onaway, died on Wednesday March 1, 2023 at Aspen Ridge Retirement Village in Gaylord. She is survived by her sons, Tony (Sandra) and Rick (Angela); daughter-in-law, Ellen Dunbar of Alpena; as well as her grandchildren, Traci (Mike), Mark (Carol), Shawn (Lisa), Vivien, Spencer, and Mitchell and several great-grandchildren. Maggie also leaves nephews and nieces, including Penny and Kelly, whom she was very close with and her longtime friend, Carol Smrchek of Rogers City. FRAS, Michael D., 71, of Maple Ridge Township, died Saturday, March 4, 2023 at home with his family at his side. Mike is survived by his wife, Karen, his children, Doug (Kristy), Jason (Jenny Helinski), Amanda (Terry) McKenzie, and Bridget (Erik Ewing), his grandchildren, Monica, Kelsey, and Kayla, Brooke, and Lilly, Ava, and Gavin, and a great-grandson. Mike has been taken for cremation with no services planned at this time. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.

Joan Elnora Burt, 92, of Alpena went to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Touch of Country AFC Home. Joan Elnora Heine was born in Owosso on Nov. 13, 1930, to the late Harold and Dorothy (Smith) Heine. She married George Burt on Nov. 14, 1950, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hale and moved to Alpena. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2007. She worked for the Alpena County Jury Commission as a secretary. Patrick Francis Jacques, 76, of Alpena passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena of an apparent heart attack. Patrick was born in Alpena on Feb. 16, 1947, to the late John and Thelma (Boucher) Jacques. He attended and graduated from Alcona High School and later Central Michigan University. He taught school for Alpena Public Schools for 37 years until his retirement in 2006. While teaching he directed 37 high school plays. Stella Florence Smigelski age 103 passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2023. She was born Aug. 8, 1919 in Detroit to Andrew and Agatha (Blasczyk) Zyracki. Stella is survived by her sister, Sophie Zyracki of Posen and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry on Jan. 15, 2012; two sisters, Gladys and Genevieve; a brother, Stanley; her parents, and grandpa George.
