Richard S. Hynek, 75, of Black River, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. Born Dec. 18, 1947 to Stanley Bill and Helen Frances (Dombrowski) Hynek in Chicago, Illinois, he was raised in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Rick served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Eugene Samuel Desimone, 83, of Alpena passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at home. Eugene was born Nov. 25, 1939, in Detroit to the late Samuel and Beatrice (Pagel) Desimone. He served in the United States Navy. On Dec. 14, 1960, he married Frances Werzenski. She preceded him in death on June 1, 2007. Eugene was a HO Train enthusiast.
