KALITTA, Alan Paul, 78, of Metz, died from dementia on June 28, 2022 at MediLodge of Alpena. Alan is survived by his wife of 47 years-Nancy (Schoolcraft) Kalitta, his children, Tennille (Don) Wilton and Travis (Amber), three sisters, Marlene (Jack) Schalk, Jeanie (Pat) Delekta, and Brenda (Dan) Gilmet and six grandchildren, Tony, Cathy, Felicity, Auren, Mason, Evlyn and two great-grandchildren. Sandra Hall, 79, of Alpena, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. Sandra was born in Flint, Michigan on July 21, 1942, to the late Lee Clem and Clarence Clem. Sandra loved her family, baking, decorating, entertaining, writing, and the fine arts. She received her Bachelors in Family Life Education at Spring Arbor College. Ronald Merville Smith, 89, of Alpena, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Besser Senior Living Community. Ronald was born Jan. 27, 1933, in Herron, Michigan to the late Merville and Clara (Lancaster) Smith. On Aug. 1, 1953, he married Norma Jean Munroe and shared 67 years before she preceded him in death on July 29, 2020. Thomas William Springs, 88, a lifelong resident of Alpena passed away peacefully at his home on July 10, 2022. Tom was born Nov. 18, 1933, in Alpena to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Goudy) Spring. He graduated from Alpena High School in 1952. That same year, he began his career with Besser Company as a machinist apprentice. Richard Lee Rang, 79, of Lachine passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Richard was born in Toledo, Ohio on Aug. 11, 1942, to the late Robert and Alice (Braun) Rang. On Oct. 15, 1977, he married Phoebe Boatwright. Dick worked for the Department of Transportation for the State of Michigan for 43 years retiring in 2006.
