Vivian Lewis, age 93, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, and is now absent from her body and present with the Lord. She was born on Aug. 6, 1929, to the late Alex and Margaret (Farnell) Nevins. She resided in Alpena for over 30 years, living the past seven months at Besser Senior Living. Vivian Margaret Nevins was born and raised on a dairy farm in the Greenwoods area. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1948, followed by graduation from Alpena County Normal to pursue her career as a third, fourth and fifth grade teacher at Long Rapids and Leer Schools. Anna Marie Stoinski, 69, of 1862 Weiss Road Alpena, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 8th, 2022. Anna was born on Sept. 25th, 1952 to Peter and Francis Stoinski of Alpena. Anna enjoyed working in the home health care field, Polish music, and she was a great dancer. Anna was employed as a CENA for Tender Care of Alpena for 30 years, District Health Department No. 4 for many years and Northeast Community Mental Health for 10 years. KOHUT, Alice M., 99, of Hubbard Lake, died Sunday, July 31, 2022 at her home. She is survived by her son Keith Edward (Sandra), and her daughter Gale (Anson) Rowley, seven grandchildren, Derek (Tabbie), Scott and his wife Wendy, Joseph and his wife Hailey, William , Jennifer, Bruce E. (Emily) and Benjamin, 12 great-grandchildren, with two on the way this fall, three stepgrandchildren, Tamara (Rock), Kimberly (Patti), and Christopher (Mary), and three stepgreat-grandchildren. MEDOR, Douglas Hazen, 64, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit. Doug is survived by his mother, Elaine Medor, two uncles Theron (Karen) Franklin, and Donald Franklin, two aunts, Carol Franklin, and Helen Fisher, as well as many cousins. Doug is at Gillies Funeral Home where visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. A meal will follow at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln.

Phyllis Ann (Marciniak) Glazier was born into eternal life on July 27, 2022. She leaves behind a legacy of love and caring. Phyllis was born in Alpena, Michigan on May 4, 1929, to Wladyslaw and Martha (Couture) Marciniak. She was the youngest in the family and the peacemaker among her siblings. Karen Jean Spencer, 66, of Alpena passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland surrounded by her family. Karen was born Nov. 16, 1955, to the late Raymond and Mary (Walter) Moldenhauer. Karen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching the birds. She married Richard William Spencer on Oct. 20, 1978. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2019.
