KAREN JEAN SPENCER
Karen Jean Spencer, 66, of Alpena passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland surrounded by her family. Karen was born Nov. 16, 1955, to the late Raymond and Mary (Walter) Moldenhauer. Karen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching the birds. She married Richard William Spencer on Oct. 20, 1978. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2019.
She is survived by four children, Judi Spencer (Jere McLaren), Laura Spencer (Jamie Frazho), Juanita Krawczak, Richard Spencer (Jillian Paquette), all of Alpena; 11 grandchildren, Samantha (Andrew) Sucharski, Austin McLaren, Cameron Spencer (Ashley Kelly), Paige Krawczak (Cortland Zolnierek), Devin Spencer, Dustin Spencer (Hannah Allen), Noah and Cayden Frazho, Liam and Kaylee Krawczak and Mary; five great-grandchildren, Gavin and Jagger Sucharski, Brooklyn, Blake and Wesley Spencer, all of Alpena. Karen is also survived by three siblings, Evelyn (Mark) Rouleau of Alpena, Sue (John) Miller of Pecatinica, Illinois, Dennis Moldenhauer of Alpena; stepsiblings, Rhonda (Bill) Kuzenski of Alpena, Emmett (Carla) Yuchasz of Alpena and Lonnie (Wendy Shephard) Yuchasz of Alpena.
Karen is preceded in death by her stepmother, Marie Moldenhauer; and stepbrother, Kenneth Yuchasz.
A combined graveside service for Richard and Karen will take place at Evergreen Cemetery on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Lingaur officiating. Military honors will follow for Richard by Alpena VFW Post 2496. Arrangements have been made by the Bannan Funeral Home.
