Detroit Red Wings upend Chicago Blackhawks

The Detroit Red Wings prevailed 4-1 after spotting the Chicago Blackhawks a 1-0 lead after one period on Thursday in Detroit.

Troy Stecher tied the game for Detroit not quite five minutes into the second period, while teammate Jakub Vrana, a new acquistion this week, scored the game-winner just over four minutes later. The Red Wings’ Michael Rasmussen added insurance with an empty netter in the final two minutes.

Thomas Greiss made 24 saves for the victory in the Detroit net, while Chicago’s Kevin Lankinen also had 24 stops.
