Hillman beats Whittemore-Prescott

The Hillman High School varsity football team beat Whittemore-Prescott on Friday with a score of 40-14. Eddie Prue scored five touchdowns. "This was a great team win for us," Coach Cody Allen said. "Everyone stepped up tonight and played hard. We held a team averaging over 70 points to 14. Our defense really played outstanding and executed the game plan." Next up, the Hillman Tigers travel to Baldwin for a 6 p.m. game on Saturday.

AHS cross country competes at MSU Invitational

The Alpena High School cross country teams competed in the Michigan State University Spartan Invitational on Friday. The Wildcat boys placed ninth out of 27 teams and the girls 21st of 33 Division 1 teams. Xander Allen and Logan Szumila were medal winners for the boys, placing fourth and 24th, respectively.
