Alpena cross country competes at Shepherd Invite

Unseasonably hot temperatures as well as 17 other teams tested the fitness of the Alpena High School women and men’s cross country teams at the 2025 Shepherd Invite on Saturday. Both teams fared better than most by notching fifth place finishes in the highly competitive meet. Izzy Szymanski, Abigail Misiak, Marian Renard, Lila Scott, and Ava Karsten were the scoring five for the girls. Alcona football falls to Mio

Alcona dropped their game against Mio by a score of 26-40 on Friday. Brandon Fogle scored three touchdowns on the ground and caught another. He racked up 166 yards on 26 carries. Keegan Ritchie chipped in with eight carries for 39 yards. The defense was led by Ben Johnston with 16 tackles, Landon Kimball with 13, Adalai Liebler with 11, and Keegan Ritchie with 10 and a fumble recovery.
