Last weekend, the 14U Thunder Bay Blockheads baseball team took home the championship title of the 2022 Midnight Madness tournament hosted by the Ogemaw Orioles after a weekend of good pitching, defense, base running, and hitting.

On Friday, the Blockheads were down against the Orioles, but rallied with a big comeback in the final innings, and ended the game with an 8-8 tie. On Saturday, the Blockheads played the Michigan Batmen, fought hard, but fell short and lost 8-7. On Sunday, the Blockheads came out strong against the Mid Michigan Reapers and ended the game by mercy-rule after just 3 innings, 16-1. This landed them a spot in the semifinals where they faced the Bay City Bandits. The Blockheads came out strong with the bats and won 11-5. Thunder Bay continued its winning streak in the championship game against the Goodrich Thunder, 13-1.
