PREP ROUNDUP: Oscoda boys and girls basketball win against Midland Calvary Baptist

HOCKEY

TC Central 3, Alpena 1

TRAVERSE CITY–The Wildcats fell behind 2-0 early after a pair of power-play goals from the Trojans on Saturday. Anden Marceau cut the lead to 2-1 with a second-period goal and Alpena coach Chris Linback said the team played two of its best periods of the year in the second and third periods. The Trojans added an empty-net goal in the third period to ice the game. Collin Lightfoot made 40 saves for Alpena.

The Wildcats (3-11-1) open postseason play Thursday in Tawas against either Sault Ste. Marie or Tawas.

GIRLS BAKSETBALL

Oscoda 74, Midland CB 42

OSCODA–Macy Kellstrom scored 22 points, Izzy Hulverson had 15 and Mia Whipkey had 11 for the Owls, who hit 15 three-pointers in the Saturday win and improved to 14-1.

Oscoda hosts Hillman on Monday.

BOYS BAKSETBALL

Oscoda 78, Midland CB 44

OSCODA–Drew Hess scored 25 points, Owen Franklin had 14 and Gavin Lueck and Michael Gepfrey each added 10 for the Owls (15-0) in a Saturday win.

Oscoda plays at Hillman on Monday.
