PELLSTON — Despite a spirited second-half comeback, the Cardinals (13-4) saw their season end in a Division 4 regional semifinal on Tuesday. Onaway trailed 19-17 after one quarter and 31-27 at halftime. The Cardinals started the third quarter on a 7-0 run to take the lead and led 46-41 after three quarters. Onaway kept things close, but ran into a cold spell offensively in the fourth quarter. The game was tied 49-49 with 3:28 left, but Alanson outscored Onaway 10-5 the rest of the way.
