FREELAND–A pair of Alpena High School runners got to test themselves against some of the best runners in the state again, at the Michigan Meet of Champions on Saturday in Freeland.

Hayden Allen qualified to run the Elite Tier 2 race at the meet and finished 68th (18:12).

Madi Szymanski qualified to run the Elite Team race and ran a season best 18:38, to finish 32nd.

Traverse City Central senior and former Alpena runner Drew Seabase finished third in the men’s elite team race, crossing the line in 15:27.83.
