Alpena 5, Alcona 3

LINCOLN–The Alpena High boys soccer team rallied to victory on Saturday, beating Alcona 5-3 on the road.

Alcona held a 3-1 lead in the first half after goals from Tim Jamieson, Joel Steiner and Jena Wambold.

The Tigers led 3-2 at halftime before Alpena rallied back.

Alpena got two goals from Gabe Glawe, who was playing in his second varsity game since being called up from JV.

“Alcona played hard and played well,” Alpena coach Tim Storch said. “I thought we were a little overconfident based on our first result against them and Alcona played very strong.”

The Wildcats (9-11-1) will host Cadillac in district play on Thursday.
