INTERLOCHEN–The Alpena High girls golf team competed in its first Big North Conference meet of the year on Tuesday at Interlochen Golf Club for the TC West Invitational.

Kennedy Ellis led the way for Alpena with an eighth place 90. The Wildcats shot 447 as a team with Gianna Bolda shooting 108, Brianna Boyk with 125, Rebekah Carlson with 124, Amelia Carlson with 140, and Katie Kurowski with 132.

Anci Dy of Traverse City West was the tournament medalist with 75, leading her team to first overall in the invitational. The Wildcats play again Thursday at Bay View Country Club in Petoskey.
