PREP ROUNDUP: Alcona soccer team beaten by Roscommon
LINCOLN–The Alcona soccer team had trouble finding the back of the net during a 3-1 loss to Roscommon on Monday at home.
Joel Steiner scored a goal in the second half for the Tigers (8-5) with an assist from Brett Nelson, but that was the only goal Alcona had.
“It was a good game. We carried the play in the first half, but we couldn’t put the ball in net, which happens sometimes,” Alcona coach Tim Munro said.
Aidan Wrobel made nine saves for the Tigers, trailed 2-0 at halftime.
Alcona will host Oscoda at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in a game that will decide the North Star League champion.
