Rogers City takes twinbill from Oscoda

OSCODA–The Rogers City softball team had another easy day on Friday, beating Oscoda 18-0 and 17-2 in a North Star League doubleheader.

Kyrsten Altman limited Oscoda to two hits and struck out nine in the opener. At the plate, she had a double among two hits.

Taylor Fleming had a pair of doubles for Rogers City (13-4, 8-0 NSL) and Catheryn Hart and Jeffra Dittmar each had two hits.

Amanda Wirgau, Karissa Rabeau, Kyley LaFleche and Makenna Fessler each had hit.

Altman earned the win again in the nightcap, allowing four hits and striking out three.

Fleming hit for the cycle in four consecutive at-bats in four consecutive innings, collecting a triple, single, home run and finishing with a double in fourth inning. She finished the game with four hits, four RBI and scored four times.

Wirgau had three hits, Hart had two hits and Brooke Saile, Dittmar, LaFleche, Alissa Bowden and Reagan Comerford each had a hit.

Hillman splits

with Oscoda

The Hillman JV baseball team split a pair of games with Oscoda on Friday.

Hillman won the first game 3-2 and the Owls triumphed 11-10 in the second game in seven innings.

Jaden Dove won for Hillman in the opener, allowing one hit and one walk in two innings. At the plate, he was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.

Brady Firman was 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI; Aden Sobeck was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI; Owen Moulton was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Zak Riordan had a single.

Sobeck took the loss for Hillman in the nightcap, allowing three runs (all earned) on four hits with a walk and eight strikeouts. He also had an RBI single.

Dove had two RBI and scored twice; Moulton singled and scored a run; Firman doubled, scored a run and had an RBI; Sean Henigan was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Adam Ruthko was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI.
