HOLLAND – Alpena’s Cam DeCaire fell in the first round of the Division II state tournament held at Hope College over the weekend.

After successfully qualifying at last weekend’s regional tournament, DeCaire lost his first round match to Max Stallings from Grosse Pointe North 6-0, 6-0.

“Cam played hard and worked his plan,” Alpena coach Charlie Giordano said. “I am very proud of how he worked during the match and how he kept trying to upset his opponents game.”

Despite a quick exit from the state tournament, DeCaire was able to cap off a stellar four year varsity career by fulfilling a dream of making it to the state finals during his senior year.
